Brody was raised in rural west Texas in a ranching family, growing up in a setting that required the use and respect for everyday equine. Raising bucking bulls and horses, training colts, and day-working consumed his teenage years and after a few harrowing experiences which inspired his desire to understand the equine psyche, he apprenticed under world-renowned cutting horse trainer R.J. Cluck for several years.
His passion for horses shone through his own mounts and at a young age also impressed those who saw him ride and handle all kinds of horses. When he started riding his horses off the ranch, people quickly began to ask his methods, impressed by his skill-especially at such a young age. These simple inquiries segued into training horses for folks off the ranch. After several years of learning under Cluck, Brody returned home and word quickly spread about this young horse trainer.
He has trained cutting, penning, and competitive ranch horses, as well as rodeo horses. After training for many years, he realized that learning to professionally trim/shoe horses would be a huge asset to his training, and so he made the trek to Oklahoma to learn to shoe from the legendary farrier, Craig Livingston, ensuring all horses here at CPP have excellent and quality hoof care.
